Awoniyi makes history despite Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Manchester United

Taiwo Awoniyi made history as the first-ever Nottingham Forest player to score in seven consecutive Premier League games after netting against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Awoniyi opened the scoring for Forest in the second minute at Old Trafford.

The Nigeria international collected the ball inside his own half and ran through on goal before slotting the ball past Andre Onana.

The 26-year-old also joined Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohamed Salah as the only Africans to have scored in seven consecutive Premier League games.

Willy Bolly scored the second goal for Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United recovered to win the game 3-2.

Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes were on target for Manchester United.
