Atiku, Obi, Amaechi, Top Opposition Leaders Meet Over Electoral Act

‎Top opposition leaders in Nigeria met on Thursday to take a united position on the new Electoral Act.


‎The closed-door meeting held at the Lagos/Osun Hall of Transcorp Hilton Abuja.


‎Those in attendance included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.


‎Also present were former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former Senate President David Mark, and New Nigeria Peoples Party chieftain Buba Galadima.


‎The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Rauf Aregbesola, was also part of the high-level talks.


‎Other political stakeholders at the venue included ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, Senator Dino Melaye, former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu, and former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke.


‎The leaders are expected to brief journalists on what they described as contentious sections of the newly amended Electoral Act.
