Atiku mocks Kwankwaso for boasting to win 2027 presidential election against Tinubu, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flagbearer in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar has mocked his counterpart Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for claiming he would win the 2027 presidential election against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others.

Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state speaking during the inauguration of the NNPP Secretariat in Katsina on Saturday, said the NNPP is ready to take over the presidency, states, and other positions across the country in 2027.

According to him, the party is heading towards success in the 2027 general elections.

“I wish to remind you that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already dead, because we were in the party, since they have gone out of the line, we decided to check out,” he said.

The Kwankwasiyya leader called on Nigerians, especially women and youths, not to allow themselves to be “deceived with spaghetti or money during the next elections”.

While calling on the party’s leaders to redouble their commitment towards the success of the party in the state and the country at large, he commended them and other stakeholders in the state for renovating the secretariat.

The NNPP Chairman in Katsina State, Armaya’u Abdulkadir, said the party was doing everything possible to enlighten the electorate on the party’s new logo.

According to him, the new logo is symbolising education for all, which is the most concerned area of the Kwankwasiyya leader.

He said: “There is the need for the party to embark on grassroots sensitisation to inform the members on the importance of the new logo.”

Reacting to Kwankwaso’s statement, the Special Assistant on Media (Broadcast) to Atiku, Abdul Rasheeth, said it was funny that the former Minister Defence who got only 1.4 million votes in the last 2023 election, would make such a bold claim.

“Imagine you ran for President and received 1.4 million votes: 1 million from Kano and 400,000 from all over Nigeria. You believe you can win against Tinubu,” Atiku’s aide said on his X handle.
