Arsenal defender leaves Emirates as Chelsea confirms deal for new player 

Arsenal defender, Zak Swanson, has left the club to join League One side Portsmouth on a permanent transfer.

Arsenal stated this in a statement via its website on Monday.

The statement read in part, “Zak Swanson has joined League One side Portsmouth in a permanent transfer.

“The versatile defender joined our Hale End Academy in May 2009, when he was eight years old.

“The 21-year-old has been an integral part of our Academy sides over the years, his hard work was rewarded when he featured on the bench in the Premier League numerous times in the second part of last season.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea on Tuesday confirmed that attacking midfielder Katerina Svitkova has joined the club’s Women’s team.

Chelsea disclosed this in a statement via its website.

It read, “Katerina Svitkova joins Chelsea Women.

“Chelsea Women are delighted to confirm the signing of Czech international Katerina Svitkova on a three-year contract ahead of the 2022/23 season.

“The 26-year-old joins us from West Ham United and will head into pre-season training with the squad later this summer ahead of the tour to the US. Svitkova will wear shirt number 13 for the Blues.”
