Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
Makinde, who is the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Southwest said that the APC will face defeat in the election.
Makinde’s remark comes on the heels of Ganduje’s claim that the APC will soon dominate the Southwest states after securing victory in Ondo.
“We assure you that Tinubu is the best we have and we must deliver a 100 percent in favour of APC in this election and in the South West region. We assure you we are strategising to take over the two other states in this region,” Ganduje said while speaking to aspirants who lost the party’s primary election.
However, Makinde said that the PDP is still vibrant in Ondo State and committed to winning the gubernatorial race.
“The people of the South West of Nigeria are wiser, especially in Ondo State,” Makinde said during a campaign rally in Akoko.
“You can see the crowd; look at the enthusiasm. On November 16th, they will tell him (Ganduje) that Ondo State and indeed Southwest are for the PDP.”
