Amotekun arrests ex-convict for attempted kidnap in Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a 25-year-old man, Mumini Oseni, for alleged attempted kidnapping in Osogbo.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday while attempting to kidnap a young girl around Obanisola Street, Powerline area, Osogbo.

It was alleged that Oseni gave the young girl a N50 note, and she raised an alarm which attracted the attention of her mother.

Confirming Oseni’s arrest, the Corps Commander of Amotekun in Osun, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, said the suspect fled the scene before luck ran against him.

“He was arrested after a complaint was lodged, and the operatives swung into action immediately, and he was apprehended in the act.

“During interrogation, the felon confessed to perpetrating the act and revealed that he was an ex-convict jailed for armed robbery,” Adewinmbi said.

Adewinmbi said the suspect has been handed over to the police for interrogation and prosecution.
