Alleged Cybercrime: Prosecution opens case against social media influencer Justice Chidiebere

The federal government, on Monday, opened a case on an amended three-count charge of alleged cybercrime and felony against social media influencer, Justice Chidiebere also known as Justice Crack.

Chidiebere was brought before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the federal high Abuja, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges

Shortly after, the first prosecution witness, Oronto Douglas, continued his evidence-in-chief, including an affirmation that audio and video recordings of the defendant’s interview were downloaded to a flash drive. He also told the court that he duly signed a certificate of compliance.

Counsel to the defendant prayed the court that the bail conditions earlier granted be allowed to continue.

The Prosecution did not object to the submission, which the court granted.

Justice Abdulmalik adjourned the matter to 28th September to enable prosecution counsel, who earlier applied to the deputy chief registrar, to also apply to head of the court’s IT department for subsequent viewing of the forensic evidence.
