Aina suspended for Super Eagles’ vs Guinea-Bissau AFCON qualifier

Nigeria will be without Ola Aina for the first leg of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau in September.

The Torino defender will miss the game through suspension after picking his second yellow card in the qualifiying series against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday.

Aina was first cautioned in Nigeria’s matchday one encounter against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

The 25-year-old will, however, be available for the away clash against the Djurtus also in September.

The Super Eagles will host the Djurtus in their matchday three encounter at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Sunday, September 18.

The reverse fixture will hold eight days later.

The Super Eagles top Group A with six points from two games.
