The newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of Zone 11 Command, Osogbo, AIG Cookey Christy Ibiso has assumed duty.
In a press release signed by Ayeni Benjamin, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police, Zone 11 Command, Osogbo, made available to newsmen, AIG Ibiso also pledged to motivate officers and men of the force to work, police and secure their jurisdiction effectively.
She also promised to introduce a visible and community approach in policing the zone.
According to the press release, AIG Cookey Christy Ibiso, an indigene of Opobo town in Opobo/Nkoro local government area of Rivers State, secured appointment into the force in March 1988 as a cadet ASP.
“She is a graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, where she has a Bachelor of Art in Mass Communication. She obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Port-Harcourt, and she capped it up with a Masters Degree in Educational Management at the University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
“She attended both local and international professional courses which includes: Psychology in Police Education Course at St Petersburg Russia 2008, Tactical Leadership and Command Course at Police Staff College Jos 2010 and Strategic Leadership and Command Course, also at Police Staff College Jos 2015.
“AIG Cookey has served in various formations and held different positions, she was CSP ‘A’ Rivers State Command in 2008, 2ic B’OP’s Rivers State Command 2009, 2ic State CID Rivers State Command same year. She also served as AC Admin. Bayelsa State Command from 2010 to 2016 where she was promoted and transferred to Zone 6, Calabar as DC Admin. She worked there till 2019.
“When she was promoted CP, AIG Cookey served as CP Investment, DLS Force Headquarters Abuja in 2020 and was CP Welfare DFA force Headquarters Abuja from 2021 to 2022 where she was promoted to the enviable Rank of AIG and posted to Zone11 Command Osogbo.
“Happily married with children, her hobbies include: Reading and Word Games, while her watchword is the fear of God in the service of men and the nation.”
The Nigerian Police Zone 11 Command comprises Oyo and Osun State Police Commands.
