Aggrieved APC Sen Aspirant Call For Fresh Primaries

An aggrieved aspirant in the just concluded All Progressive Congress Senatorial primaries in Benue NorthEast district popularly known as zone A, Dr Tornger Malu has described the process as a sham and called for its cancellation.

Dr Malu who spoke to journalist on Wednesday after tendering his petition before a 3 man panel sitting at the APC secretariat in makurdi , sited a number of irregularities on the day of the primaries which included the absence of a voters register  that should contain the names of the voters, lack of serial numbers, stamps and signature on the result sheets which then makes it very easy to duplicate or replace.

Most worrisome he said was the fact that the chairman of the returning officers Barrister Francis Jirgba had no knowledge of the names of the returning officers as they were hand picked from amongs relatives of politicians. These irregularities does not speak well for the party especially as 2023 general election drew nearer. He therefore appealed  for a fresh primaries to be conducted.

On his part, the chairman of the panel Hon. Hyacinth Nsude disclosed that the panel had received 3 petitions regarding the recently conducted APC Senatorial primaries. 2 from zone A and 1 from zone C.  Complainant for zone C was Hon Nelson Alapa, zone A had Mennaseh Benga, Dr Tornger Malu along with a barrister who is been expectedly
