AGF inaugurates new EFCC office complex in Ilorin

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, has inaugurated the new office complex of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Fagbemi described the project as an attestation of the current administration’s commitment to rid Nigeria of corruption.

He stated that the Tinubu administration planned to rescue Nigeria from the grips of corruption, stressing that the EFCC was key to the actualization of the dream.

“The EFCC is pivotal in the Tinubu administration’s plan to remove impediments to accountability in governance institutions and strengthen mechanisms and platforms by which Nigerians can hold public officers to account,” he said.

According to him, corruption is a malaise that had been undermining government’s reform efforts at all levels.

“Economic and financial crimes hurt developmental programs and policy of the government at all levels and ultimately fuel insecurity and erode gains arising from reforms in the core sectors of our economy,” he said.
