AC Milan boss, Pioli demands more from Chukwueze

AC Milan head coach, Stefano Pioli has demanded more from Samuel Chukwueze even as he expressed satisfaction with the winger’s performance in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League home fixture against Newcastle United.

Chukwueze was handed his first start since linking up with the Rooseneri from LaLiga side, Villarreal this summer.

The 24-year-old didn’t make much impact in the game and was replaced by Christian Pulisic after 61 minutes.

The Nigeria international has yet to hit a target or record an assist for AC Milan in five appearances across all competitions.

Pioli weighed in on Chukwueze’s performance.

” I want Samu to be very open, he is used to cutting a lot inside the pitch. The idea in Newcastle’s first half was to target a full-back with another pass, in the first half we didn’t make much use of him, and then I put Pulisic on. But we’re satisfied with his performance, ” Pioli said during his interaction with the media on Friday.

AC Milan will take on Hellas Verona in a Serie A encounter on Saturday.
