Abducted Anambra Commissioner, Wife Regain Freedom

The Anambra State Commissioner for Youths Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife, who were abducted en rote to Abuja, have regained freedom.

Daily Trust reported that the couple was said to be travelling on Friday to Abuja to attend the wedding of Ifeatu Adaora, daughter of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, when the tragedy befell them.

One of the commissioner’s aides Kpajie Offia, who was travelling with the couple, was reportedly killed in the attack.

The commissioner and his wife were, however, released after 24 hours in captivity, according to a statement made available on Sunday by Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludu.

“Within 24 hours, we were able to get them out of the hands of kidnappers,” Aburime confirmed.
