Archbishop Sam Amaga, Chancellor, Salem University Lokoja has offered scholarship to more than 150 orphans through his ‘”Project one million orphans'”.
“Already the over 150 orphans from different parts of Nigeria have been offered scholarships and graduated in the university and other Institutions of higher learning.”
Salem University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Alewo Johnson-Akubo, who made the disclosure in a congratulatory message issued in Lokoja, described him as a “visionary and charismatic leader.”
According to him, the benefitting orphans are now Change agents that are impacting their world in various walks of life. Many more, he said, are still being recruited as we currently.
He said: “The management, staff and students of this great citadel of learning, today join the Church and well wishers within and outside Nigeria in celebrating this iconic leader on the occasion of his 71st anniversary.”
The vice chancellor (VC) noted that the entire university community saluted the amazing and impactful years the chancellor of the institution has spent on earth.
“To us in salem university, Archbishop Sam Amaga is a true patriot, mentor and father figure worthy of emulation by everyone, who desire to succeed in life and heaven bound.
“This is because the chancellor has made significant contributions to the spiritual and educational growth and development of Nigeria.
“He is indeed a trailblazer in many areas of life, particularly, in ministry and human capital development.’
“As an astute leader, committed and faithful servant of God, Archbishop Amaga has touched lives especially the indigents in the society through the SAM AMAGA Foundation. He is indeed a leader of leaders, ” he said.
He said that by that singular gesture, the Archbishop had demonstrated his love and care for the young ones within the length and breath of Nigeria.
According to him, the chancellor has done well in serving humanity and has left time tested legacies that many generations would continue to remember and emulate.
