3 unemployed men docked for allegedly attempting to steal a cow

Three unemployed men were on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly attempting to steal cow worth N150, 000.

The police charged Usman Abubakar, 25; Nura Yusuf, 25 and Usman Ibrahim, 28 with conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offence on Nov. 4, at about 12. 20 a.m, at Siro Igboho area, Ibadan.

Amusan said the defendants attempted to steal the cow belonging to Malam Sheu Bello.

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 516 and 509 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty of the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Akande, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N30, 000 with one surety each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Jan.18 for hearing.
