2023 Hajj: Kano Governor sacks 44 centre officers

The Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has sacked the 44 Centre officers who have been coordinating the 2023 Hajj exercise in their respective local government areas.

This was contained in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, issued to newsmen.

The statement said the Governor replaced them with interim officers to coordinate the ongoing Hajj operations in the state.

He, however, instructed the newly appointed officers to assume their responsibilities and report to the new Director-General of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for further instructions at the Board’s Headquarters.

Reported that hours after his inauguration, the Governor sacked Amb. Mohammad Danbatta, and appointed Alhaji Laminu Rabiu as the new Director-General of the Board.

This is coming hours before the commencement of the airlift of the state’s intending pilgrims.
