2023: Group makes case for Akpabio as senator

The President General, Global Peace Movement International, UK Dr Mike Uyi said Senator Godswill Akpabio was the best performing senator in the during his stay in the senate who ensured his performance touched every community in the senatorial district.

Uyi in a statement on Thursday laud Senator Akpabio for giving his people what he described as uncommon effective representation of the people throughout his tenure in the National Assembly.

He noted that Senator Akpabio’s tenure at the senate was devoid of dull moments, and cluelessness but was characterized with proactive legislation and effective representation.

He recalled that right from 2015, Senator Akpabio had taken passion in bankrolling multi- faceted empowerment and developmental projects not only in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district but also in Uyo as well as Eket senatorial districts.

“He is an epitome of excellence in service; a staunch believer in quality delivery and human capacity development and we at GPMI believe that he will do more progressive and uncommon representation come 2023”.

“As Minority leader of the Senate, Akpabio demonstrated high level of patriotism on his handling of government issues with the opposition. Those who expected him to play blind opposition politics were disappointed with his style of leadership. He was able to balance his role as leader of the opposition and the need to support everything that would benefit Nigerians brought to the floor of the Senate by the ruling party”.

GPMI prayed for his emergence as winner of the general election coming up in 2023, describing the development as his acceptability by the people of his constituency.
