2023: Ex-First Bank director, Dare emerges Zamfara PDP guber candidate 

Dr Dauda Lawal Dare has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Zamfara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election.

Dare, a former ExecutiveDirector of First Bank, who controlled operations of the bank in the north, defeated three other governorship aspirants to win the PDP governorship primary election of the party with a wide margin.

Announcing the result, the chairman of the PDP governorship primary election panel in the state, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, said the election was smooth without any rancour.

He announced that Alhaji Hafiz Usman Nahuche got no vote; Engr Ibrahim Shehu Gusau got five votes; Alh. Wadatau Madawaki scored three votes while Dauda Lawal Dare scored 431 votes to become the party’s governorship candidate in the state.

He also commended the PDP delegates for decorum and peaceful conduct of the election.

In a statement, the state PDP Chairman, Col. Bala Mande (retired), commended the committee, saying that the process was apt and it ended successfully.
