2023 AFCON Qualifier: Sierra Leone begin preparation for Super Eagles clash

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have started preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

John Keister’s men had their first training session ahead of the game at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia on Thursday.

Head coach, Keister announced a 38-man squad for the crucial clash this week.

The gaffer is expected to prune down the squad to a sizeable number next week.

Sierra Leone occupy third position in Group A of the qualifiers with four points from three games and must beat the Super Eagles to keep alive their hopes of making it to Cote d’Ivoire 2023.

The Super Eagles top the standings with nine points from the same number of matches.

A point will be enough for Jose Peseiro’s side to qualify for the 2023 AFCON finals.
