Ajaokuta Reps Member, Abdulraheem thanks constituents, canvasses support for Ahmed Ododo, APC

The House of Representatives member, representing Ajaokuta federal constituency in kogi State, Barr. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem has again expressed his gratitude to the people of the constituency for their unalloyed support from the beginning of the campaign process to the end of the election.

Hon. Sanni Abdulraheem Egidi disclosed this in Adogo on Saturday at a well-attended reception organised to thank his supporters and electorate for their support during the last House of Representatives election.

Hon. Egidi, who reaffirmed his commitment to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituency, also called for support for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Kogi APC governorship candidate for the November 11 election.

While thanking the constituents, including APC support groups, political stakeholders, religious leaders, traditional leaders, associations, community leaders, activists and opinion leaders for giving him the opportunity to serve, promising that he would continue to render selfless services for the development of humanity, Egidi, however, noted that he believed the Ahmed Ododo would bring his wealth of wide experience into bear.

Egidi urged them to align with the present political reality in the state and country’s political pendulum by casting their votes for Ododo and APC adding that this would further guarantee unrestricted access to dividends of democracy at all levels of government.

“It is indeed, a moment of gratitude. You have stood by me and my party – the All Progressives Congress Congress (APC), you have worked hard and sacrificed for us to bring about the necessary developments. My dear people of Ajaokuta federal constituency, I want to thank you in all sincerity for the unquantifiable show of solidarity and abundant love as exhibited at the various polling units.

“I am urging you to give Ahmed Usman Ododo and APC maximum support and show him love on election day, the same way you extended love to me to enable our dear state to achieve greater heights”, Egidi appealed.

Ahmed Usman Ododo, who arrived Adogo, Ajaokuta Local Government, the reception venue, some minutes before 2pm, went around the venue to receive cheers from the crowd, even as the entire Adogo area of the event was totally at standstill.

The elated Governorship candidate told the people that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state would not take their support for granted, saying a lot more would be done in terms of development for Greater kogi to continue to rise.

Reacting to the massive turnout, Ododo said the vast attendance further confirmed the strength of APC as the only party of choice in the state.

Clad in branded white attire with face cap, the crowd dominated the Ajaokuta local government headquarters in a political carnival.

The governorship candidate mounted the rostrum to seek the mandate of the people, saying he will deliver on its developmental promises.

“I greet you all, our supporters. We are happy God has given us good health. I’m happy for you to have come out in large numbers”.

“Just some weeks ago, you came out in large numbers to elect our brother, Barr. Sanni Abdulraheem Egidi. I want to thank you, friends, supporters and well-wishers. You have come out again today to show love and commitment”.

He however appealed to them to elect him, for continuous and efficient service delivery.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of APC in kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello aka Dollar, said the party is the ruling party in the state, promising the electorate that the party would not disappoint them.

APPRECIATION

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, our royal fathers, members of the press and fellow constituents of Ajaokuta federal constituency,

Today is a day of immense joy and gratitude as I stand before you as the newly inaugurated Honourable House of Representative member representing the good people of Ajaokuta. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you who made this day a reality.
First and foremost, I must acknowledge the divine guidance and grace of God Almighty. Without His blessings, none of us would be gathered here today, celebrating this historic moment.

I am profoundly grateful to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello Adoza. Whose unwavering support and belief in my vision have been instrumental in our journey to this position of responsibility. Thank you for your encouragement and guidance Your Excellency Sir.

To my beloved family, you have been my source of strength and motivation. Your unwavering support has sustained me through the challenges of politics. I am forever indebted to you for your love and understanding.

I must also express my heartfelt appreciation to my political party The All Progressive Congress (APC) for entrusting me with this noble responsibility and for creating a platform for people like me to thrive. It is an honor to be chosen as the representative of our great party in this constituency.
To the chairman and all members of our political party, thank you for your dedication and hard work. Your tireless efforts have played a significant role in our success.

My deepest gratitude goes to the constituents of Ajaokuta, whose unwavering faith in my abilities led to my election. Your votes and support have elevated me to this esteemed position, and I promise to serve you with unwavering dedication and integrity.

Lastly, I extend my appreciation to everyone who played a vital role in making this day a reality. Your contributions, great and small, have made a significant impact, and I am grateful for your support.

ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR

I must say it has been a remarkable experience serving in this capacity Since my inauguration into office, I am proud to share with you some of the key achievements we have accomplished together in less than 2months of my inauguration.

1. In just a short span of time, I moved a motion at the National Assembly for the need to urgently provide control measures on the federal road in Ganaja flood-prone area of Ajaokuta, Kogi State, linking the southeast states to prevent severe socio-economic adverse effects on Nigerians. This motion was approved, and it was declared a national emergency, emphasizing our commitment to addressing pressing issues affecting our constituents.
2. Recognizing the urgency of infrastructural development, I moved an amendment for the constitution of an Adhoc committee to investigate the delayed construction of important roads, including the Itobe-Ajaokuta-Okene dual carriage road which has been awarded but not mobilized. This proactive step is to ensure that our projects are promptly executed for the benefit of our community.
3. Furthermore, I was honored to be appointed as the chairman of the Adhoc committee to investigate the gruesome killings in Enugu, also I was appointed as a member of the committee investigating the delay in the construction and completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano express road and also appointed as member of the Adhoc Committee to investigate the full compliance of the ITF as contained in the act. These appointments demonstrate our commitment to seeking justice and accountability for our fellow citizens and goes on to prove that the man and leader whom you elected is visionary and proactive.
4. Barely three months after my election we were able to restrain the Federal ministry of Mines and steel from proceeding with the concession of the Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) and the National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) at Itakpe. Through the help of His Excellency the executive Governor of Kogi state Alh. Yahaya Bello and our just judicial system the concession process commenced by the Federal Government for the two companies, which are located in Kogi State With the Steel Company situated in our Constituency was stopped.
5. Before my inauguration into office, we commenced the construction of a mini clinic in Okuhaogbanyi, Ebiya which is currently under construction. This is a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in our constituency.
6. I have worked tirelessly to secure job opportunities for our constituents, as I ensured that qualified individuals from our constituency who applied are giving the the opportunity to have a job they can call their own. As we speak one of us (Name) has been recruited into the junior cadre of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) while the names of twenty four others are currently under considerations and Six others as well have been submitted for the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for considerations. I am committed to empowering our people and creating opportunities and ensuring that this opportunities do not elude us even as we build a better future.
7. Finally, we fulfilled our promise to rehabilitate the road in Ganaja Primary School area, enhancing accessibility and safety for our community. The road construction which began in early 2022 is now in its final stages of completion.

To Mention but a few..!

FUTURE PLANS

Looking ahead, there are two crucial areas we intend to focus on during my tenure as your representative:

Firstly, we will foster the development of good and quality education, both formal and informal. This includes providing vocational training and ICT training such as Programming courses for our youths, empowering them to compete with every other 21st Century youth globally while also helping them to become employable and independent. Seeing how vast the world is becoming technologically it is only expedient that we arm our youths with the right knowledge and skills that they too might be renowned among their contemporaries. Which is set to commence before my first 100 days in office. Additionally, we will ensure empowerment in agriculture and also in our economy sector as touching trades even as we seek to commence the construction of our trade market to Foster the economic empowerment of our constituents.

Secondly, we are committed to providing good health infrastructure, ensuring the well-being of both the young and the elderly. This will not only to improve the overall health of our community but also create additional job opportunities in the healthcare sector.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I stand before you today with a profound sense of responsibility and dedication to serving you, the good people of Ajaokuta federal constituency. I assure you of an inclusive government, where your voices will be heard, and your opinions valued. Together, we will work to create a brighter future for Ajaokuta, where prosperity and opportunity abound for every constituent.

With your unwavering support, trust, and prayers, I am committed to doing things differently and bringing about positive change that will uplift our constituency. I promise to continue to initiate town hall meetings and other platforms to ensure everyone’s voice counts.
