Abuja terror alert: Nigerian government should not downplay threat – GPMI

A group, Global Peace Movement International, UK, said the security advisory by the United States Embassy and the British High Commission to their citizens over an imminent terrorists’ attack in Abuja should be taken seriously.

President of the group, Dr. Mike Uyi stated this in a statement on Thursday advising that the government should not downplay the threat as that may lead to seriously implication.

According to him, insecurity has dragged the country down socially, economically and have scared lots of people away from the country.

“Terrorism is one of the world’s greatest security challenges. Trying to predict it is an important part of the effort to counter terrorism”.

“Intelligence and security agencies around the world occasionally issue warnings about the likelihood of terrorist attacks in certain places”.

” We call on the Chief of defence staff, Gen. Lucky Irabhor as once a theater commander in the fight against insurgency in the north east to use his experience and good office to see how to handle this threat to enable his troops defeat the insurgents”.

“Another seasoned Army General, Lt.Gen. Faruk Yahaya is also an army officer with years of experience that can be relied upon to bring his experience to work”.

“Am very confidence that the two generals combine together can resolve the insecurity problem and being to it’s end”

“Global Peace Movement International is fully convinced that Nigeria Army is capable of dealing with the situation and every citizen hands must be on desk to cooperate with the Nigerian Army”, Uyi confirmed..
