Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Sama’ila-Bagudo, has regained his freedom from bandit captivity.
It was reported that Bagudo was kidnapped from his hometown in Bagudo Local Government Area on Friday, November 1, shortly after observing his evening prayers and leaving the mosque for his residence.
A local radio station in Birnin Kebbi, which confirmed his release, did not give details at the time of filing this report.
When contacted, the Kebbi State Police spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said he needed more time to confirm the development.
However, the State APC Publicity Secretary, Isa Assalafy, later confirmed that the Deputy Speaker was released on Saturday, noting that more details would be provided by the security agencies.
