Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, a former top confidant of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and an influential figure in Kano politics, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection ceremony, held in Kano, was led by Kano State APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas and witnessed the entry of dozens of other former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members into the ruling party.
โI am aligning with a party that I believe has the structure, leadership, and resolve to fulfill its promises to Nigerians,โ Dangwani declared at the event.Nigerian political art prints
Dangwaniโs past ties to Kwankwaso (NNPPโs national leader) make this defection a serious blow to NNPPโs strength in Kano.
His defection is seen as a strategic boost to the APCโs grassroots mobilization and northern outreach.
APC Chairman Abdullahi Abbas welcomed the defectors, promising โequal opportunities and full integrationโ into the partyโs structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
