Islamic Leaders Visit Governor Bago, Offer Prayers Over Death of 37 Miners

The Forum of Islamic Religious Leaders in Niger State has visited Governor Umaru Bago to express condolences over the death of 37 miners who died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The delegation, led by the DG of Religious Affairs, Malam Umar Farooq, comprised representatives of the Imams Forum, JIBWIS Kaduna, Darul Tijjaniyya, JIBWIS Jos, FOMWAN, MSSN, Ansarudeen, Islamiyya Forum and other Islamic organisations and religious leaders.

During the visit, the religious leaders offered special prayers for the departed souls, their families, Governor Bago and the people of Niger State, while seeking Allaah’s intervention in the difficult circumstances surrounding the incident.

Governor Bago, in his response, gave further clarification on the incident and appealed to the religious leaders to continue offering prayers for Niger State, particularly for peace, security and the wellbeing of its people.

The delegation prayed for Allaah to forgive the deceased, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, comfort their families and guide the state through this difficult period.

They also prayed for lasting peace, unity and security across Niger State.
