Remove ‘Excellency’ from politicians’ names, they don’t earn it – Sowore

‎The African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the removal of the title ‘Excellency’ when addressing Nigerian politicians.

‎Sowore stated this in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday.

‎According to him, Nigerian politicians have not earned the title, stressing that there is nothing excellent about decades of corruption and poverty.

‎Recall that Sowore on Monday slammed Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi and other politicians who supported the removal of fuel subsidy, asking them to apologise to Nigerians.

‎He challenged them over their records in government, noting that he had remained consistent in opposing the removal of fuel subsidy.

‎“No Nigerian politician should ever again be addressed as His Excellency or Her Excellency. They don’t earn it.

‎“There is nothing excellent about decades of corruption, poverty, insecurity, darkness, broken hospitals, collapsing schools, and failed governance,” he said.
