Bauchi Gov Holds Meeting with APC Reps Amid Possible Defection

‎Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Thursday held a meeting with the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the House of Representatives.

‎The meeting comes amid signs that the governor is preparing to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling party.

‎After the meeting, an unnamed Bauchi House of Representatives member, speaking to journalists with the governor present, said:

‎“We are here today as members of the National Assembly to meet with our governor and leader. We are here on a special invitation to discuss the ongoing realignment that is happening in Nigeria, and particularly in our state, to talk about the political developments here.

‎“We have reached a certain positive conclusion, and within a short period of time we will come out again and make our position known for the world to know what our discussions are all about.”

‎Earlier, Mohammed and a senior PDP member had met with some stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he weighs his options ahead of the upcoming elections.
