2027 Presidency: MAP Makes Case for Adewole Adebayo, Lists 21 Reasons for Support

The Movement Adebayo for President (MAP) has outlined 21 reasons it believes make Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Citizen Adewole Adebayo, a strong contender in the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement promoting Adebayo’s candidacy, the movement highlighted his legal career, policy proposals, commitment to social democracy and plans to address Nigeria’s security, energy, education and economic challenges.

According to MAP, Adebayo is among the candidates who have presented a comprehensive policy document outlining proposed solutions to the country’s challenges.

The movement said the candidate had released a 117-page manifesto containing policy proposals, implementation timelines and strategies for national development.

It also highlighted his legal practice, particularly his reported commitment to providing free legal services to indigent Nigerians, describing it as evidence of his concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.

On youth development, MAP said Adebayo understood the challenges confronting young Nigerians and was committed to addressing them through education, skills acquisition and empowerment programmes.

The movement identified his campaign slogan, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” as a reflection of his stated priorities for the country.
Security, Energy and Economic Development
On national security, MAP said Adebayo had proposed retraining, equipping and improving the remuneration of security personnel.

The group quoted the candidate as arguing that Nigeria must adequately support those responsible for protecting the country.

It also highlighted his position on petroleum and energy policy, saying he supported a carefully considered return of fuel subsidy, which he believes could help reduce energy costs and support small and medium-scale enterprises.

According to the movement, Adebayo’s economic agenda includes investment in agriculture, affordable energy, domestic refining and energy logistics, industrial development and improved electricity distribution.

MAP said the candidate believed reliable electricity was essential to expanding manufacturing, creating jobs, strengthening businesses and developing modern infrastructure.

The group further highlighted his proposed investment in education, vocational training and empowerment programmes as measures aimed at improving living standards and reducing poverty.

Diplomacy and International Relations

MAP also drew attention to Adebayo’s reported international legal experience and involvement in peace and reconciliation initiatives.

According to the movement, he worked with the United Nations and the African Union on peacebuilding efforts and served on Liberia’s Peace and Reconciliation Commission.

The group argued that his experience could help Nigeria strengthen international partnerships, attract investment and build confidence among global business partners.

However, the movement’s claims about his professional record and the proposed policies were presented as part of its campaign advocacy.

Transparency and National Unity

On governance, MAP said Adebayo was committed to transparency, accountability and effective citizen participation in government.
The group maintained that responsible leadership and public involvement in decision-making were essential to addressing Nigeria’s divisions along regional and religious lines.

It also said the SDP candidate intended to strengthen partnerships among states, expand exports and promote domestic production as part of efforts to improve the economy.

According to MAP, the candidate’s social democratic philosophy places emphasis on meeting the basic needs of Nigerians through policies designed to promote social welfare, economic opportunity and inclusive development.

MAP Calls for Support

The movement called on Nigerians to examine Adebayo’s manifesto and proposed policies ahead of the 2027 general election.

It urged citizens to consider alternatives to the present administration and the established political class, arguing that Nigeria needed leadership focused on poverty reduction, security and national development.

The group also invited Nigerians to obtain copies of the candidate’s manifesto through the email address farewell2poverty@gmail.com.

The statement concluded with a call for support for Adebayo, the SDP and the Movement Adebayo for President, describing the movement as a roadmap towards a new Nigeria.
