2027: Edime Backs Mark Ogah, City Boy For Tinubu, Ododo

…Says Movement Poised For ‘Bumper Harvest’ Of Votes

The Senior Technical Adviser to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and member of the Elder Advisory Council of the City Boy Movement, Chief Edime Godwin Amade, has thrown his weight behind the grassroots mobilisation drive of the movement’s Kogi State Director, Chief Mark Okpanachi Ogah, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Amade spoke during an inspection of the newly acquired state office of the City Boy Movement, located opposite the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja.

The visit, which brought together the leadership of the movement, was aimed at assessing the facility ahead of its inauguration and reviewing strategies to deepen grassroots mobilisation and political coordination across the state.

Amade commended Ogah for what he described as his exceptional political capacity, organisational discipline and ability to mobilise youths and community structures across Kogi State.

He said the rapid growth and visibility of the City Boy Movement in the state was evidence of Ogah’s ability to build bridges across political, community and youth constituencies.

According to him, the level of access and visibility secured by the movement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could not have been achieved by an unserious or poorly organised political structure.

He described Ogah as a “serious-minded political organiser” who understands the importance of grassroots engagement, strategic networking and sustained mobilisation.

Amade said the movement’s expanding structure could be leveraged to consolidate support for President Tinubu and strengthen the political base of the Ododo administration ahead of 2027.

He further disclosed that the Kogi State Government was prepared to synergise with the City Boy Movement on grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement, with the objective of securing what he described as a “bumper harvest” of votes for Tinubu and Ododo in the 2027 elections.

The governor’s aide, however, stressed that effective political mobilisation must go beyond social media, urging the movement to build formidable structures down to communities, wards and polling units.

He charged members to sustain peaceful engagement with communities, expand their reach and encourage greater youth participation in the political process.

Earlier, Ogah described the acquisition of the office as a major milestone for the movement, saying it reflected its growing acceptance and organisational strength in Kogi State.

He said the facility would serve as the movement’s strategic coordination centre for meetings, planning, membership mobilisation and engagement with supporters across the 21 local government areas.

Ogah commended Barrister Seyi Tinubu for what he described as his visionary leadership and commitment to creating opportunities for young Nigerians and grassroots political structures.

He also appreciated Governor Ododo for the support extended to the movement, particularly the provision of adequate security for its activities.

According to him, the peaceful environment provided by the administration has enabled the City Boy Movement to expand its activities and deepen its engagement with communities across the state.

Ogah reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to constructive political engagement, youth participation and grassroots mobilisation, as well as support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the developmental programmes of the Ododo administration.

The new office, strategically located opposite the Government House, is expected to serve as the operational hub of the movement’s activities in Kogi State ahead of the 2027 elections.
