2027: Dr. Hope Omeiza Emerges as Strong Contender for Okene/Ogori-Magongo Reps Seat

As political activities gradually gain momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Dr. Hope Omeiza has emerged as a strong contender for the House of Representatives seat in Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, attracting attention for his track record in community service and healthcare delivery.

Speaking with journalists in Lokoja, Samuel Ahovi Joseph noted that, as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Omeiza is steadily gaining recognition among stakeholders and residents for his consistent grassroots engagement and humanitarian interventions across Kogi Central.

According to him, through the Hope Omeiza Foundation, the aspirant has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at improving living conditions in underserved communities.

“These include the provision of potable water, support for widows and the elderly, as well as empowerment programmes designed to boost livelihoods.

“In the health sector, Dr. Omeiza, a medical doctor and public health specialist, has conducted free medical outreaches targeting vulnerable populations.

“His involvement in mental health advocacy and drug abuse prevention has also been widely acknowledged, particularly through the Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA), an organisation he founded to tackle substance abuse among youths.

“Beyond healthcare, his contributions extend to youth development through employment opportunities, educational support, and initiatives such as chess competitions aimed at promoting intellectual growth.

“Dr. Omeiza’s academic background includes a medical degree (MBBS), postgraduate qualifications, and advanced training in public health, clinical psychology, and addiction management—positioning him as a professional with multidisciplinary expertise.

He noted that his growing profile within the APC could influence the dynamics of the party’s primaries in the constituency, especially as voters increasingly demand candidates with proven records of service and community impact.

While the race is still in its early stages, Ahovi believed that the emergence of candidates with established grassroots connections and strong professional credentials may shape the quality of representation in the next electoral cycle.

As the 2027 elections approach, analysts say the contest for the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency seat is likely to centre on credibility, performance, and the ability of candidates to address the developmental needs of the people.
