Jordan Torunarigha is ready to stake claim for a regular playing berth in the Super Eagles.
Torunarigha was approached by former Super Eagles handler, Gernot Rohr to represent the team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but he turned down the Frenchman’s overtures.
The defender, who was born to Nigerian parents in Germany, represented the European country at the youth level.
The 26-year-old recently switched allegiance to represent Nigeria at senior level.
Torunarigha is now looking forward to playing for the three-time African champions.
“It is nice to meet the players and I think all of them are really nice people. It is also nice to train with big players like Osimhen and Chukwueze,” the centre-back told NFF TV.
“Captain Troost-Ekong and Collins have really helped me to find my feet here.
“This is my first call -up and I hope I will be given time to show the fans who have been criticizing me for denying Nigeria all through what I am made of. I am a young guy and I want to show Nigerians what I can offer.”
