11 killed in Bangladesh plastic factory fire and falling Girders

After the incident of fire in Kamal Bagh Debidwarghat area in Chawkbazar area of Dhaka, Bangladesh, another plastic factory nearby caught fire. A fire service official confirmed the matter on Monday (August 15) evening.

The official said, we think that the fire has spread to the neighboring factory from where the fire occurred in the plastic factory first. Because there was a lot of smoke.He also said that the firemen are trying to control the fire at the spot.

Earlier, the fire service received information about a fire in a plastic factory in Chawkbazar area around 12 noon on Monday. The first unit of fire service reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. Later the number of units was further increased. Later, the fire service was able to bring the fire under control around 2:30 pm.

The bodies of 6 people have been recovered in this fire incident. Four of them have been identified. They are Osman (25), Billal (35), Shapan (22) and Sharif (20). The identity of the other two is yet to be found. However, the six victims were workers of a hotel located below the factory.

On the other hand, five people, including a child in a private car, were killed when a girder fell from the crane of the Uttara BRT project in the capital.The tragic accident happened on Monday (August 15) afternoon.

The relatives of the deceased said that there were seven members of the same family in the private car. 5 of them died. They are Rubel (60), Fahima (40), Jharna (28), Jannat (6) and Zakaria (2). They died on the spot. The two injured are Hriday and Rhea Moni. This couple got married last Saturday. They were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Hon’ble Prime Minister expresses deep condolences:

Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of five girder falling from a crane during the work of Uttara BRT project in the capital.

In a condolence message, the Prime Minister sought forgiveness for the souls of the victims and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. Besides, he wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
