Shelby Johnson told her Twitter followers she planned on dumping her boyfriend after he made the comment

Shelby Johnson, a student at Portland State University has dumped her boyfriend after he complained of her “beer belly”, caused by excessive consumption of beer.

Johnson who didn’t take the matter kindly, replied her boyfriend through text messages, saying that she sees the whole experience as a “positive thing.”

“My goal has been to turn this into a positive thing and empower everyone to feel good about themselves and stand up for themselves.

“It took me a long time to get to where I am with my self esteem and I want every woman out there to know they can get there too, regardless of the men who say otherwise,” says Shelby Johnson, in a statement to Fox News.

The 23-year-old Johnson had been dating her now-ex-boyfriend for a few months before he expressed his concerns about her supposed beer belly, prompting her to share the troubling exchange on social media in late March.

Her boyfriend’s message read: “You’re definitely getting a beer gut babe,” wrote the boyfriend in one of his texts, after explaining to Johnson that she allegedly didn’t look the same as she did in the Instagram pics he saw “leading up to meeting [her].”

Johnson, who wrote on twitter that she was “feeling hurt” by her boyfriend’s words, later took to twitter to ask followers if she was “overreacting,” but many commenters assured her she was not.

Johnson also confirmed to followers that she was the same weight — 120 pounds — when she met her boyfriend, and that she had actually struggled to gain weight since she was in high school.

“I was 80-90 and my doctors never figured out why I couldn’t keep on weight.

“At 20, I started gaining. When I did, I never felt happier and more healthy,” she wrote.

Soon afterward, Johnson confirmed she was newly single — and that her ex felt like a jerk for being called out online.

“I want to update you guys that we are broken up. He was really unhappy, especially after knowing my tweet went viral,” Johnson said.

“He has told me he’ll use this as a learning experience to be a better person.

“And here I am, single and free.”

AY laments, reveals problems facing Nollywood

Ayo Makun

Popular comedian and actor, Ayo Makun popularly known as AY, has poured out his heart on some of the problems facing the Nigerian motion picture industry, globally known as Nollywood.

AY, in a post on his Instagram page on Tuesday, described Nollywood as a ‘back-stabbing community,’ stating all levels of flaws in the industry.

According to him, enmity thrives in Nollywood and most actors live fake lives on social media.

The post read: “As a growing actor and a movie producer, Nollywood has exposed me to both the good, the bad and ugly. Barely few years in the industry, I have experienced all sorts from the stables of the high and mighty self-entitled ‘stakeholders’, to the very insecure individuals whose only claim to fame is an old testament fact of “We started this industry”.

“Let me introduce you to Nollywokd. So welcome to an industry where rivalry and fakeness is fast becoming a legacy designed for posterity. Welcome to a backstabbing community where some pretend to love you in the open and condemn all your determination and efforts to succeed when you are not there.

“Welcome to an industry where enmity reigns supreme… Eg “If you are using her in the movie, then I can’t be on it”, or “I can’t be in your film and not play the lead role”.

“Welcome to an industry where some actors have more visible roles on Instagram and Red Carpets.

“Welcome to an industry where some would maintain a position that would make you keep to yourself rather than ask for a selfie. Welcome to an industry where some cannot use their platforms to help another colleague to promote his or her work (including the ones they are contracted for).

“Welcome to an industry where most families mainly depend on public support when one of our own falls sick. Welcome to an industry where some engages themselves daily on WhatsApp groups chatting about how others have no business making movies (even when they break their own records back to back).

“Moving the industry forward goes beyond seeking for the downfall of others, or basking in the euphoria of an old glory that has been taken over by trend and time. Above all, I still see Nollywood as a special place; a place filled with creative geniuses. Working together and supporting ourselves can only make greater arts happen to the diverse audiences we all set out to entertain.

“But at the end of each plastic character that comes with movie productions, let’s find a way to share our real side. It’ll either scare away every fake person in our life or it will inspire them to finally let go of that mirage called “perfection.”

Davido, blogger clash over ‘Wonder Woman,’ artiste to be dragged to court

Published

on

Nigerian pop star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has threatened the life of Ayodeji Jaguda, a Nigerian blogger and CEO of popular music blog, Jaguda.com.

It all started when Davido expressed gratitude to his fans for the video of his latest song, ‘Wonder Woman’, which hit one million views on YouTube barely 24-hours after its release.

The popular blogger then accused him of buying YouTube views and described the song as ‘Trash’.

Davido had written, “Originality always wins; thanks guys. Big up to all wonder women worldwide; 1million views sharply.”

The blogger immediately attacked the singer saying “One million views already? Yesterday it was a hundred and fifty. The Song is trash, the video got fair replay value but as it climbed to 1million views in 24 hours is bursting my head. All of you should continue buying views online, as long as it’s your money.”

Angered by the accusation, Davido took to his Twitter page to vent his anger.

Davido threatened, “If you and your father have the guts, in fact, add your mother, come back to Nigeria. Bastard! Fuck it, come to Africa, you will see @AyoJaguda.”

The blogger wasted no time and immediately declared, “My personal opinion is what triggers you, you could have blocked me or said it a better way. You insulted my parents and threatened my life. I have munched this and sent to my lawyers, and also we have same passports so if anything happens to me it’s on you.”

The Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody”, once dismissed as a no-hoper on Monday became the most streamed song from the 20th century.

The 1975 single and music video surpassed 1.6 billion streams globally, record company Universal Music Group said in a statement.

The six-minute playing time, operatic passages and lyrics about Galileo and Scaramouche, was boosted in breaking the charts by the new movie of the same name.

The song overtook the likes of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’Mine,” and is now also the most streamed classic rock song of all time, Universal added.

The “Bohemian Rhapsody” film, starring Rami Malek as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, has brought the music of the British rock band to a new generation. Five weeks after its release, it has also become the highest grossing musical biography movie ever, with a global box office take of $600 million.

Malek was nominated for a Golden Globe last week for his performance and is widely expected to get an Oscar nomination in January.

Universal said it had been promoting the single across streaming platforms in recent weeks.

It used all registered streams on global on-demand services including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer as well as streams from official song/video streams on YouTube to determine that “Bohemian Rhapsody” was the most streamed song from the 20th century.
