Wife of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Hadiza, has knocked the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, over its claims of recovering phone-tapping devices from her residence in Abuja.
Hadiza said ICPC forgot to mention that it took away her bank tokens.
Posting on X, Hadiza assured that those items are not wiretapping devices.
“@icpcnigeria You forgot to mention that you also took away my bank tokens. I swear to God, they are not wiretapping equipment,” she wrote.
El-Rufai’s son, Mohammed Bello, had earlier accused the ICPC of orchestrating a smear campaign against his father by “weaponizing” his constitutional right to remain silent.
Bello said it is “deeply unfortunate” that a statutory body had “descended into what can only be described as a circus of chicanery”.
