A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has claimed that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, asked the party not to field a presidential candidate in 2027 as a condition for the crisis rocking the PDP to be resolved.
Sani made this claim on Monday during an interview with Arise Television. He revealed that Wike gave the condition during one of the meetings with the reconciliation committee set up by the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT).
He said one of the conditions Wike gave for peace to reign is for the PDP not to field a presidential candidate in 2027.
Sani further claimed that Wike said if the condition is not met, then it will be a fight to the finish with the PDP.
Meanwhile, a faction of the PDP loyal to Wike, and led by factional National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman, has scheduled Tuesday, November 18th, for its Board of Trustees (BoT) and NEC meetings.
The schedule for the Board of Trustees and National Executive Council meeting was made known by the factional National Secretary, Sam Anyawu.
According to the notice, the meetings would be held at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
“Attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed,” Anyawu stated.
