My wife is a lesbian, adulterous, husband says

Published

on

An FCT High Court, Maitama, on Monday dissolved the six-year marriage between Godwin Ometu and his wife, Joyce, on grounds of lesbianism and adultery.

Justice Jude Okeke ordered the dissolution of the marriage, noting that Ometu had proved the allegations he leveled against his wife.

Okeke said the court was satisfied with the evidence of the petitioner, which the respondent did not contradict.

“As the petitioner’s evidence is admitted by the respondent, admitted evidence needs no proof.

“The court is satisfied with the evidence of the petitioner, which is reasonable and based on the intolerable behaviour of the respondent, founded on lesbianism and adultery.”

Okeke held that the records of the court revealed that the couple was married on October 12, 2012, at Jos North Marriage Registry, and on October 28, 2013, they had a set of twins.

He noted that they both lived in Abuja until the respondent moved to Jos.

He said based on the evidence of the petitioner, on several occasions, he cautioned the respondent on her behaviour, with which she responded with insult.

“If you don’t like what I am doing, I will quit the marriage and live my life the way I want it,’’ the respondent reportedly said.

Okeke observed that on one occasion when the petitioner visited her in Jos to deliver some food items, money and other things for the upkeep of the children, he did not meet her at home.

He noted that when she was called, the respondent said rudely, ‘If you like, you can keep those things at the gate with the gate keeper and go back to Abuja.

‘I am in a friend’s house and I have decided to sleep over there and nothing can make me come back to welcome you.’

Okeke also observed that on another visit by the petitioner, he was made to sleep in a hotel and was prevented from seeing his children.

He added that when the petitioner called on the respondent, she told him that she had a visitor and would not have him (the petitioner) and the visitor in the house at the same time.

The judge said no reasonable man would be expected to put up with such a woman.

“In the light of the foregoing, the court resolved the whole issue raised above in favour of the petitioner against the respondent.

“It is declared that the marriage between the petitioner and the respondent contracted on October 12, 2018, at Jos North Marriage Registry, had broken down irretrievably as a reason of intolerable behaviour on the part of the respondent.’’

He ordered that the custody of the two children remain with their mother, while the petitioner would have unhindered access to them at all reasonable hours of the day.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four persons operating an illegal fake drug production factory in Lagos.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. DCP Jimoh Moshood, told newsmen on Friday that the suspects operated the factory from a four-bedroom building located at No. 2 Okunnenye Street, Ikotun Egbe area of the state.

Parading the suspects at the factory premises, Moshood said the IRT operatives raided the secret factory on Thursday, following a tip off.

According to him, large quantities of suspected fake drugs were seized during the raid.

“Recovered from the scene were cartons of different fake drugs, large quantities of unprocessed chemical substances used in manufacturing drugs, several machines fabricated for processing, manufacturing and packaging of the fake drugs.

“Also recovered are forged pharmaceutical papers, plastic buckets of different types suspected to be fake.
The premises have also been sealed and remain sealed till the determination of the matter by a court.

“The IGP has advised members of the public to be weary of where they procure food, drugs and drinks as many of them are fake and may cause outright death or physical and mental disability,” NAN quoted him as saying.

The principal suspect later told journalists that he owned the factory, stressing that he learnt the trade from a friend who died four years ago.

“Although, I am not a pharmacist or a chemist, but the medications are not totally fake as I use quality chemicals to produce them.

“My market is at Onitsha Anambra State, I don’t supply in Lagos. I distribute only in Onitsha and they in turn know where they distribute to. I have not really made too much money but at least, I have made little money.

“I am the owner of the place. I do take the drug and give to my wife and children because it is not totally fake to treat malaria. I try to be genuine.

“Instead of 250mg, I make it 180mg. That is the only offence I have committed but really the medicine works,” the suspect said.
