Marcus Rashford of Manchester United has revealed why he passed an opportunity to take a picture with club veterans Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney as a young academy player.
Rashford, who spoke with Players Tribune recently, said he was not interested in standing alongside the club heroes for pictures because he was certain that one day he would be in the same dressing room with them.
Rashford made his famous Man United senior team debut on 25 February 2016 and grabbed the opportunity by scoring twice on that day.
Rashford later played alongside the two United greats and fast forward eight years, he is one of the Red Devils’ most senior players at the club. The England attacker has played 391 matches, scoring 128 goals since his first-team debut.
“Wazza[Rooney] and Cristiano came by to do something with all the academy lads, and I was just looking at them in awe,” he told Players Tribune
“I remember my brother saying, ‘Go take a picture with Wazza, bro! What are you doing?’
“I said, ‘I don’t need a picture. … I’m going to be playing alongside them some day.”
