Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed why Cole Palmer left Manchester City to join the Blues.
The 21-year-old swapped the Etihad for Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.
He joined the Blues in a deal worth around £40 million and is expected to make his debut against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
“He decided to come because he expects to play maybe more and be important here, but I think that is not the most important,” the Argentine told the press during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
Pochettino added: “He decided to come because Chelsea is a project for him, to improve his game, and to be more involved in every single game.”
He noted that the 21-year-old England youth team star has quality and great potential.
