Golden Eaglets head coach, Nduka Ugbade is upbeat his team will make a big impact at the WAFU B U-17 Championship.
The Golden Eaglets will open their campaign against the host nation, Ghana on Saturday (today) at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The five-time world champions will look to start their campaign on a winning note against the depleted hosts.
The Black Starlets will be without several top players after they failed the mandatory age test leading to the tournament.
Ugbade insisted he has picked the best players for the competition and is confident his team can go all the way in the competition.
“I am happy with the squad that we have been able to come up with, and I can say confidently that we are in Ghana to make the nation proud,” Ugbade told CAFonline.com.
“Our primary objective is to earn a ticket to the Africa Cup of Nations, and then we go full throttle for the trophy.
“Nigeria has a pedigree in U-17 football and we cannot afford to disappoint.”
The top teams in the competition will qualify for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations to be hosted by Algeria early next year
