‘Tinubu is happy with you’: NSA Ribadu tells governor Fubara

The National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is happy with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s leadership in Rivers State.

Ribadu made the comment on Monday while leading a presidential delegation, including the Ministers of Works, David Umahi, and Environment, Balarabe Lawal, along with senior officials from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC, Limited, on a courtesy visit to the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.

He described Rivers State as one of the most peaceful in the country.

On the purpose of their visit, Ribadu explained that the delegation was in Rivers State to strengthen ongoing peace efforts in Ogoni land.

He said a “new chapter” was unfolding there and emphasized that Nigeria will become better with transformation beginning in the area.

The NSA added that President Tinubu specifically asked him to thank Governor Fubara for his leadership and coordination, particularly regarding discussions on the resumption of oil exploration in Ogoni.

He also expressed appreciation to the people of Ogoni for their support, patience, and understanding.

The NSA further commended the state government for providing a campus for the University of Environment and hosting the South-South Zonal Office of the Office of the NSA.

Recall that Fubara recently defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC), a few days after the Rivers Speaker Martin Amaewhule, and sixteen members of the Rivers State House of Assembly into the APC. The governor of the oil-rich state said his decision to move to the ruling party was to support President Tinubu.
