The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has stated that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intensified efforts to safeguard lives and property in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The First Lady, who was represented by Salamatu Gbajabiamila, wife of the Chief of Staff to the President, spoke on Monday at the National Christian Youth Leaders Conference held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
During her speech to the Christian youth leaders, Senator Oluremi stressed the role of the Church and young believers in promoting unity, nation-building, and moral regeneration.
She said, “The government has redoubled its commitment to the security of lives and property. The Church remains an ally in nation-building. Our pulpits, prayers, and programs are the incubators of the moral regeneration Nigeria needs.”
Speaking on the conference theme, “Let the Truth Set You Free,” she urged Christian youths to reject hatred, ethnic distrust, and religious intolerance. The First Lady also appealed to them to use their platforms, particularly social media and community engagement, to promote peace and national cohesion.
To our Christian youth, I urge you to speak the truth boldly against the lies of division. A house divided against itself cannot stand,” she added, expressing optimism that Nigeria would emerge stronger and more united.
Her statement comes after the US President, Donald Trump, designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern”, accusing Nigeria of ignoring an alleged Christian genocide in the country. He further threatened to deploy troops to Nigeria if the government do not take action to stop the killings.
