Tinubu approves airport for Bishop Oyedepo’s Winner’s Chapel ‘Canaanland’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has approved the construction of an airstrip at Canaanland, the headquarters of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, in Ota, Ogun State.

Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the church, announced the development during a special service at Canaanland.

The airstrip is expected to streamline travel for worshippers and guests, particularly during large-scale events such as Shiloh, the church’s annual convention.

“Our members can now land and park their aircraft at Canaanland, enabling easier access for worshippers and guests from across the country and beyond,” Bishop Oyedepo remarked.

The addition of an airstrip will further boost the church’s expansive campus and create a more integrated experience for its members.

The project will be privately funded by the church, emphasizing its commitment to self-reliance and economic development. Besides improving transportation, it is expected to generate jobs during the construction and operational phases, contributing positively to the local economy.

While the exact timeline for the airstrip’s construction has not been disclosed, the church leadership has promised a swift execution of the project, adhering to aviation standards to ensure safety and efficiency.

This development marks another step in the church’s ongoing efforts to enhance the worship experience for its members and visitors.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said clergymen and Christians would be blamed if they died poor.

Pastor Adeboye was reacting to the backlash that followed the gift of a Rolls Royce to Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church during his 70th birthday.

During Oyedepo’s birthday celebration at Living Faith headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, the Bishop was gifted a Rolls Royce and N1 billion.

he gesture has attracted criticism from a cross section of Nigerians.

However, Pastor Adeboye said it’s better to die rich than poor.

Addressing his members in a video, Pastor Adeboye said: “Someone gave a bishop a car and some people got very upset that how can a bishop be driving a Rolls Royce? As if once you are a bishop you must die of hunger.

“Let me tell you my beloved children, if you die poor they will blame you; they will say after all these days of you serving God this is how you end? If you can’t pay your rent, they will say where is your God?

“If all of a sudden you start riding a Rolls Royce they will attack you, so which of the two do you choose? They are going to attack you anyway, whether you die of poverty or you live in abundance.”
