Six Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed in attack on UN base in Sudan – ISPR says

Six Bangladeshi peacekeepers were killed and eight others wounded in an attack on a United Nations military base in Abyei, Sudan, Bangladesh’s military said late Saturday.


In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) directorate said “terrorists” carried out the assault on the UN base, killing six members of the Bangladesh Army serving on peacekeeping duty and injuring eight others.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

The ISPR said fighting is ongoing in the area and that further details would be provided later.
