Shettima visits Aisha and Buhari’s children in London, condoles with family

Vice President Kashim Shettima has paid a visit to Aisha Buhari, the widow of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, in London.

The Vice President, who led a Nigerian Government delegation to bring back Buhari’s remains, also met the late President’s children.

Buhari died on Sunday at a clinic in London, United Kingdom.

Buhari served as military Head of State, and later as a democratically elected Nigerian President.

During the time he was President, Buhari spent at least 225 days away from Nigeria on medical trips.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had directed Shettima to travel to London and accompany the body of the late Buhari.

The former president’s remains was initially scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Monday, but was delayed.

Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, said Buhari’s body will arrive in Nigeria by 12 pm on Tuesday and the burial will take place in his hometown, Daura, by 2 pm.

The Katsina governor added that the burial decision was taken following consultations with the family and other concerned personalities.
