Senator Isah Jibrin, representing Kogi East Senatorial District, vehemently condemns the escalating hostility between the Ayeke and Enweli communities of Ibaji, Kogi State. The violence has resulted in heavy casualties, causing great concern and distress among the populace.
Senator Jibrin expresses deep shock and dismay at the tragic turn of events, emphasizing that such conflicts among brothers are utterly unacceptable, particularly in times when peace and prosperity should be our collective focus. The resort to arms and violence is alien to the values of our people, and it is imperative that we find peaceful resolutions to our disagreements.
In light of these distressing developments, Senator Jibrin urgently calls upon the Kogi State Government and relevant security agencies to swiftly deploy personnel to the affected areas. It is imperative to restore law and order, protect the lives and properties of innocent citizens, and prevent further escalation of violence.
Senator Jibrin reiterates his commitment to fostering peace, unity, and progress within his constituency and urges all parties involved to prioritize dialogue and reconciliation as the pathway to resolving grievances.
