A fresh chapter in African film distribution is unfolding with Circuits, Nigeria’s leading virtual cinema and Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) platform.
Embracing a pay-per-view model, Circuits lets audiences pay only for the films they want to watch — a flexible and affordable alternative to the subscription-heavy systems that dominate streaming.
Chief Operating Officer Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni explained in Lagos that the approach was designed to meet modern viewing habits while guaranteeing fair returns for creators.
“It allows audiences to enjoy a single film without committing to monthly fees, while revenue flows directly to content owners,” she said.
Tickets start from ₦1,000, with prices available in local currencies for viewers worldwide. Access durations range from 8 to 48 hours, and for longer engagement, the Flexiwatch Classics package offers over 50 curated films for seven or 21 days.
The platform’s catalogue spans blockbuster Nollywood hits featuring stars like Femi Adebayo and Lateef Adedimeji, as well as award-winning works from across Africa. Since its launch, Circuits has attracted more than 1.3 million unique streams in over 170 countries.
With availability on mobile apps, smart TVs, and web browsers, Circuits combines convenience, curated African storytelling, and a creator-first revenue model — setting a new standard for virtual cinema across the continent.
