The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), will leverage on data analytics for secure and efficient trade facilitation in customs operations, and would be World best under the leadership of Comptroller General, Bashir Wale Adeniyi.
Mohammed Abba-Kura, the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG), of the service in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection, stated this during a chat with newsmen on Thursday, at the ongoing Comptroller General of the Customs (CGC’S) Conference in Lagos.
According to Abba-Kura, data is key to the successful operations of the service as it provides real-time information on planning, tracking, revenue prediction and generation for the government.
He said that the new Customs boss was a listener, straight forward, innovative, a team player, and very passionate about the success of the NCS.
Abba-Kura also emphasised the significance of the CGC’s conference, describing it as an avenue for stakeholders’ assessment of their performance, to make necessary corrections for more efficient service delivery.
The DCG said that the NCS would continue to synergise with other sister organisations, especially the Military and Paramilitary, for robust operations.
He then expressed gratitude to Vice President Kashim Shettima, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and traditional rulers who had boosted the morale of the service’s personnel by gracing the event.
He assured Nigerians and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that the new leadership of the NCS would not disappoint them.
The CGC Conference was resuscitated by Adeniyi after eleven years suspension by previous leaderships.
