Oladele John Nihi Annual Symposium, LOC Seeks collaboration with NUJ

The Local Organising Committee for Oladele John Nihi, Annual Symposium has called for partnership with the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), to achieve set goals.

Chairman of the LOC, Samuel Kadiri made the call in a remark when members of the Committee paid a visit to the Executive of the Union in Lokoja.

Mr. Kadiri said the programme slated for 15th July is a youth platform for discussion on burning issues affecting them and proffer workable solutions for a greater nation.

In a remark, the Host of the proposed symposium and Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Youth and Student Matters, Oladele John Nihi, said the annual programme came about on the need to reach out to the youth across Kogi State, Nigeria, Africa and the world to discuss on issues of common interest and proffers the way forward.

Oladele said the date also coincide with his birthday and the need to make positive impact on the lives of the youth which are potential leaders of nations.

He solicited for the endorsement and active participation of the NUJ towards achieving the desired success.

According to him, the 5th edition of OJN Symposium has as its theme: “Youth Entrepreneurship & Empowerment: Panacea To Foster Socioeconomic Development In A Society” is meant to dissect matters relating to Governance, Youth Empowerment/Entrepreneurship and Nation Building.

The SA said he was inspired to commence the impactful programme annually to mark his birthday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s annual colloquium making a difference in the lives of the people of the Nation.

In his remark, the State Chairman of the NUJ, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna assured of the Council’s partnership with the Committee to achieve success.

According to him, the NUJ is a body meant for promoting good governance amongst other constitutional mandate of the Union.

Highlights of the visit was the endorsement of the OJN Symposium.
