Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has lamented his side’s inability to make the Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six competition.
The Oluyole Warriors have already secured their top-flight status following an impressive performance in the second half of the season.
The Ibadan club held Group A leaders Bendel Insurance to a 1-1 draw in Benin City on Sunday.
Ogunbote reckoned their poor showing in the first half of the campaign cost them a place in the Super Six.
“Before now, we knew we were not going to be part of the Super Six; we lost it in the first round because we had so many careless moments, but in the second round, we were able to pick up our pieces, unfortunately, it was too late,” he said in a post-match interview.
“The important thing now is to finish on high because that will add to our integrity.”
