Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a notorious cable vandal in the Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the spokesman of the command, CSC Adamu Shehu, issued to the press.

He said the 20-year-old suspect, Buhari Iliya of Giginya Village was arrested by the operatives of the NSCDC.

According to him “the suspect was arrested on Sunday at about 0400hrs when he went to Government Science Secondary School Kanya Babba, vandalised and stole 318.6 meters of electric cables meant to supply electricity to the School Administrative Block.

“Watchmen heard unusual movement from the ceiling which aroused their curiosity and eventually led to his arrest.”

He confessed to having committed the same offence thrice in the same school.

Further investigation led to the arrest of one Nasiru Shuaibu who used to buy the stolen goods from the suspect.

They will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction after a detailed investigation is concluded, the corps said.
