The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP in Ebonyi State, Apostle Chris Adol-Awam, on Friday, decried high taxation and insecurity in the state.
Adol-Awam, who is the General Overseer of the Eternal Light Christian World Ministry, made this known while speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
He lamented the alleged rise in debt profile of Ebonyi State and vowed to offset all internal and external debt and will boast the state Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, through mining and other sources, if elected governor of Ebonyi State, come 2023.
The cleric, however, stated that he will join forces with the presidency and other well-meaning Nigerians to fight vigorously to ensure that local government areas in the country gain their financial autonomy.
Adol-Awam, who is a former ALGON chairman and council chairman of Ebonyi LGA, said it is the turn of Ebonyi North Senatorial zone to produce the next governor of Ebonyi State and that he is contesting on the platform of NNPP to win and succeed Governor David Umahi in 2023.
He called on the stakeholders of Izzi clan to unite absolutely and avert any situation that will make them divide their votes in 2023.
